Abstract (EN)
Bibliotherapy is a method that enables the individual to experience a healthier development process by utilizing the therapeutic and healing power of books. In this study, it is aimed to analyze Grace Lin's three works of children's literature translated into Turkish before 2024 according to bibliotherapy elements. In order to determine the elements of bibliotherapy, literature studies were examined and bibliotherapy criteria were determined. The evaluation form developed by Işık (2023), 25 of which are related to cognitive development, 17 to social development and 7 to emotional development, was used as a data collection tool. The research was conducted with qualitative research method document case design. The findings were analyzed with descriptive analysis technique. The works and the collected data were analyzed through the "Form for Evaluating Children's Literature Works According to Bibliotherapy Criteria". As a result of the examinations, a total of 1144 bibliotherapy elements related to cognitive development, social development and emotional development were identified and categorized according to the criteria in the development areas. Among the bibliotherapy elements of the works examined within the scope of the research, it was seen that the most common bibliotherapy elements were related to the development of high-level thinking skills, gaining reading habits, being sensitive to the environment, developing cooperation and sharing skills, preventing pathogenic expectations for the future (self-protection failure, helplessness, lack of safety and trust, etc.) and protecting mental health. Based on the bibliotherapy elements identified, it was concluded that Grace Lin's works can be used in bibliotherapy practices. In line with the findings and results of the research, suggestions were made for practitioners and researchers. Key words: Bibliotherapy, Where the Mountain Meets the Moon, Where the Sea Meets the Sky, Starry River in the Sky, Grace Lin.
