The place and importance of graphic design in social media

From the beginning of humankind, people always need the communication. The communication is sustaining with different methods as audio and visual. The design has survived from the cave period to the present day with writing and typographic images. In primeval era, design was not used as a tool for art, but as a method of communication. Today, visual communication design is mostly carried out through social media. In addition to small and large companies, individual users can also benefit from the visual communication part of social media to increase their recognition and brand value. At first the internet, then the social media visual communication has provided an extremely rapid interaction between people. Each visual image bring a message and is created to impress the users. In this thesis, the importance of visual communication on human life is emphasized and also the effects of visual communication are explained in detail from ancient times until today.
