Abstract (EN)
Insulators has a great importance on the conduction of energy on high voltage power line. Insulators may be polluted because of their atmospheric and environmental conditions (for example; being near seaside, chemical pollution, having dust because of wind etc.). This pollution on insulator causes to leakage currents on surface. Amount of leakage current depends on applied voltage and pollution amount. Because of leakage current insulator formation is broken down and it causes to energy out. There are different methods to measure leakage current amount. One of them is related to leakage current monitoring. So, electronic circuits have been advenced for measuring leakage current on insulator. By means of this circuits leakage currents on insulator can be measured. When leakage current magnitude exceeds a certain preset value, alarm circuit starts and gives signal by means of electronic circuit. So, before flashover on insulator, insulator are cleaned by stopping the energy of line or automatic washing system are started for cleaning when the energy on line.KEY WORDS: insulator, pollution, leakage current, monitoring.
