Effect of customs applications on logistic costs

The volume of the international trade develops day by day. The organizationswhose competition power is higher in developing international trade dominate on widermarkets. The important factor of increasing competition power is, of course, to decreasethe logistic costs to the minimum level. Logistic costs are classified as different items andthese items of costs increase because of some reasons. Customs applications ininternational trade are some of the important factors increasing the effect of the logisticcosts.In this study it has been examined the effect of customs applications over logisticcosts and given detailed information about customs applications. Customs applicationsthat affect logistic costs (such as warehousing fees, fees of transportation, overtime pays,fees of representation service, customs duties) have been investigated in the light ofupdated information. Additionally, a sample application was presented in order to seethe effect of the customs applications on the logistic costs more clearly. In the sampleapplication it has been tried to explain that the customs applications affect theprofitability in which extent by calculating total logistic costs affected from the customsapplications.In the study, also, some recommendations have been presented to the firmsdealing with foreign trade in order to reduce the logistic costs affected by customapplications.Keywords: 1) Logistic, 2) Customs, 3) Customs Applications, 4) Logistic Costs.
