Data-Driven Simulation, Feasibility, Implementation, Commissioning, Performance Optimization and Cost Analysis in Solar Power Plant Projects: Ankara Example

In this study conducted on solar power plants, simulations were made in different designs of a solar power plant to be established to meet the electricity needs of an institution in Ankara, and technical, environmental and economic analyses of solar energy systems were performed. The PV*SOL program was used in the design and optimization of the power plant to be established to meet the electricity needs of the institution. As a result of these studies, the PV*SOL program produced the results of various designs. Based on these results, the application was carried out considering various designs. The energy values produced by the established power plant were compared with the simulation and reality. With these production values, the amortization period of the system was seen as 2.5 years and 451,858 kg/year of carbon dioxide emission was prevented. Thus, the damage to the environment and nature was greatly reduced and thousands of trees that would be destroyed for energy needs were prevented. This study showed that solar power plants have a great energy potential for our country with the right designs and that this potential can be made more efficient with various simulation programs. In addition, it has shown that the widespread use of solar power plants in all areas in our country and in the world is very important in economic, environmental and technical terms.
