Abstract (EN)

Kitsch phenomena can be found in many conceptual and visual findings in 21st century contemporary art. For this reason, the aim of the research is to examine the reflection of kitsch elements, which are frequently encountered in daily life, on contemporary art. In this direction, it has been investigated whether the concept of kitsch, which is handled through the feeling of feeling good in art or being able to sense the bad, is in a structure that can exist in contemporary art. Document analysis method was used as a method in the study. At the same time, contemporary museums and art galleries were visited and works of art were reached personally. The limitation of the study can be stated as associating the kitsch concept with daily life. In accordance with the stated purpose, the definition of kitsch and its historical process are emphasized in the first part of the study. The factors in daily life and art that prepared the emergence of kitsch, which was born from the conflict of beauty and ugly, were also emphasized. In the second part, the art movements related to daily life in the history of art in general were examined within the scope of the relationship between daily life and art, emphasizing that the 'things', which are described as ordinary in daily life, can take on certain identities and meanings through plastic arts. Thus, the relationship between kitsch and daily life was tried to be established on the axis of daily life inquiries. In the third chapter, the reflections of kitsch, which is associated with daily life, on contemporary art are examined. The different perspectives of art, which ignores kitsch in the traditional style but pushes the boundaries over time, have been evaluated through contemporary art. As a result of this research, it has been examined in which areas kitsch affects contemporary art and what kind of impressions kitsch has in today's process in contemporary art in this influence-evolution process.
