Abstract (EN)
Gradually increasing population density, resource consumption, and environmental pollution has been affecting the ecology of our planet in adverse ways. Serious decrease at the natural resource flow puts the future of the human generation and other creatures living together in the nature in danger. Considering the facts that the natural resources has predominantly been drained by the building sector; it appears how important the bio-climatical architecture is for the posterity.Within the context of this academic work, the affects of bio-climatical design on multiplex housing buildings has been studied through the analysis of environmental issues which appears in parallel with the technological developments. The aim and the extent of this work have been specified at the introductory chapter. In the second chapter, concepts pertinent to the subject, historical development process of the residence and bio-climatical architecture concept have been studied. Third chapter examines the renewable energy resources and systems developed for using these resources under bio-climatical design criteria headline. In addition, it has been asserted on climatical data, building automation systems and selection of material which affects the ecological design. In the fourth chapter, some abroad multiplex building design models has been rated and specifications has been examined. Last chapter deals with the compatibility of bio-climatical approaches on some multiplex building models located at Istanbul. In this context, a poll for the chosen models has been taken and has been evaluated over the conclusions. The general evaluation of the thesis ends with the expressive of the necessity of utilization of bio-climatical design in present housing buildings.Key Words: bio-climatical architecture, multiplex housing, renewable energy, ecology
