Abstract (EN)

Lots of studies have been carried out about Turkish Public Narratives till today. In borders of `an alive performance? if we look in the neighbourhood of Kars where we carried out our study, we could see that oral cultural tradition is still going on with rich opportunities. If this neighbourhood is investigated, except the Public Narratives of Hacı Murat Utar from Kars whom we tackled, it is understood that one personal study is not enough to cover the whole area of study. In this neighbourhood, we believe that our study would be more beneficial if Public Narratives contain an explainable present tense which is examinable and parallel with performance theory (an alive performance). Through the end of the work, we try to determine the place of Hacı Murat Utar?s Public Narratives in Turkish Folklore by our own researches in borders of `an alive performance?, by giving information from different resources, by taking into consideration the traditions of the neighbourhood and narration, by considering narrator, audience and the text. In the first part of our study, after giving short information about the geographical and historical place of the neighbourhood of Kars, parts and audience of the narrations are presented via our observations and evaluations by giving general information about the narrations. In the second part, we try to abide by the compilation by giving Hacı Murat Utar?s life from his perspective. 132 In the third part, we try to deal with the problems of expression, after giving information about the nature and formation of Public Narratives in the repertoire of Hacı Murat Utar. In the forth part, compiled narratives are analyzed with the help of literary and folkloric methods reckoned with the contextual properties. First of all, pattern rings and episode then; theme, time, place, characters, point of view, narrator and narration techniques are evaluated in turns. In the fifth part, after giving general information about the lingual and expressive properties of the narratives, these lingual and expressive properties are investigated by ourselves with the names of the heroes, imitations, imitational words of sounds, idioms and humour subtitles in turns. In the sixth part, narrative texts of expressions are given with the local speech style of the narrator. Unknown words and expressions, words with different usages in these Public Narratives are explained in `Dictionary? part. In `Bibliography?, resources that we used are given in alphabetical order, and quotations that we take from these resources are pointed out in our study. I regard it is a pleasant duty to thank to people in `Kars-Akyaka? and in `Büyük Aküzüm Köyü? that I mentioned in this book or not, especially our narrator Hacı Murat Utar. I usually consulted to my counselor of thesis Yrd.Doç.Dr. Hamiye DURAN and Prof.Dr. M.Öcal OGUZ about the subjects and the plan of the study.
