Jarh and tadil assemblies -period of tabiin and tebeu't-tabiin-

The science of jarh and tadīl has emerged as a result of the criticism activities used to determine the authenticity of hadiths since the early periods, and some critics have carried out special studies in this field. In this context, jarh and ta`dīl assemblies, which are determined to have started with the tabiin, began to be formed, and the critics conveyed their knowledge about the rical to their students who were present in those places. At the same time, the scholars, who exchanged ideas with their peers about the status of the narrators, reached a clear opinion by confirming which of them was defective in terms of justice and record. From this point of view, some scholars took a special interest in the science of jarh and tadīl, which was determined to have reached its peak in the period of tabau't-tabiîn compared to the previous periods, and organized assemblies where they evaluated the narrators. In this regard, the works of Shuba b. al-Hajjāj, Sufyān al-Sawrī, Yahyā al-Kattān, and 'Abd al-Rahman b. Mahdī on the field have been analyzed. As a matter of fact, the fact that the students were present in the cerh and ta`dīl assemblies and conveyed the procedures determined by their teachers, the methods they followed and the ways in which they criticized the qāwīs revealed the importance of these assemblies and necessitated the subject of the work performed in these assemblies. In the first part of the study, the emergence process of the science of jarh and ta`dīl was discussed in detail, and in the second part, after examining the process of the formation of the assemblies, the activities in the assemblies were examined and evaluated in the context of method and criticism.
