Abstract (EN)

Soft and flexible material processing technologies have come a long way quickly because of the growing need for flexible, ultrasensitive wearable sensors for myoelec- tric prosthetics, soft robotics, personalized health tracking and, many more applica- tions. PDMS foams are used in a variety of applications as piezoresistive sensors. When coated with graphene, the mechanical and electrical are enhanced significantly. There- fore, the aim of this research is to fabricate a lightweight graphene coated piezoresis- tive sensor in addition to PVA and SDBS as solvents. Different samples were coated with different numbers of coating cycles where the 7 times coated sample showed a resistance less than 100 kΩ at 80% strain. This research reported that water-based GNP/SDBS/PVA dispersion can be pre- pared using SDBS and highly water soluble PVA. XPS analysis showed binding be- tween PVA and SDBS, while Raman spectroscopy revealed the interaction of SDBS with GNP. This suggests that the structure of graphene is maintained, which may in- dicate effective thermal conductivity. A cyclic test was performed on the foam and the gauge factor is found to be 1 with a resistivity of 172530 Ω.m and a conductivity of 5.7×10-5 S/m. Key Words: Graphene, GNPs, PDMS foams, Piezoresistive Sensors
