Abstract (EN)

This study aims to acutely examine the effect of manipulation applied to the thoracic region on core stabilization in healthy individuals. 60 healthy individuals aged 18-40 years were included in the study and the evaluations of the subjects were made at Ataşehir Florence Nightingale Hospital. The subjects were divided into two groups, 30 people in the experimental group and 30 people in the control group. After the volunteers filled out a questionnaire including demographic characteristics and consent to participate in the research, Joint Range of Motion Assessment, Functional Leg Length Assessment Test, Plank Test, Modified Scober Test, Fingertip Floor Test, Sit Ups Test, The Quebec Back Pain Disability Scale (QBPDS), SF-36 (Short Form-36) tests and maximum evaluation were performed on the CTT Centaur (BfMC Biofeedback Motor Control) device. One week later, the same tests were performed without any application to the subjects in the control group, and the results were recorded. In the experimental group, after the manipulation of the thoracic region with the push method, the tests were repeated and the results were recorded. In this study, based on the results of the measurements made in the CTT Centaur device, it was determined that the manipulation applied to the thoracic region between the control and experimental groups had a positive effect on core stabilization in favor of the experimental group (p<0.05).
