The relationship between religiosity and subjective wellbeing in students who memorize the qur'an in qur'an course: The case of Antalya

This study aims to examine the relationship between piety and well-being in adolescents studying in the Qur'an course. Within the scope of the study, the Socio- demographic Information Form, the Adolescent Well-Being Scale and the Religiosity Scale were applied to 501 students in the Qu'ran Courses affiliated to the Presidency of Religious Affairs in Antalya. screening model was used in the study and the relationship between adolescents' religiosity and subjective well-being was examined. Additionally, religiosity levels and subjective well-being sub-dimensions of adolescents were compared in terms of socio-demographic variables. According to the findings obtained in the study, there was a significant difference in the religiosity levels of adolescents in terms of gender, income level, father education level, family religiosity level and parental marital status. According to the findings regarding the sub-dimensions of subjective well-being according to socio- demographic variables, significant differences were found in the sub-dimensions of subjective well-being in terms of income level, parental education level, family religiosity, and income level. According to the findings related to the correlation between the religiosity and subjective well-being levels of adolescents, subjective well-being was found to be positively and significantly correlated between relationship satisfaction with significant others, life satisfaction, positive emotions, and total adolescent well-being and adolescent religiosity. It can be seen that the findings obtained in the research present supportive and up-to-date data from previous studies in the related literature. In addition, research findings are thought to be beneficial for adolescents studying in the Qur'an course in terms of contributing to the further research and the programs that can be developed regarding improving subjective well-being and religiousness levels.
