Abstract (EN)

It ispvery important to definepthe ground conditions ofpthe construction site and determine the geotechnical parameters required for structural design. Within the scopepof this thesis study, thepground characteristics of the schools and buildings located in the schools in Merzan District of Hakkari province were compiled. The 7 ground investigation reports obtained were examined in detail and the ground properties were combined. As a result of the drilling and other field studies, there are units belonging to the Hakkari complex. In the reports prepared as a result of the previous studies, water content, natural unit volume weight, sieve analysis, Atterberg limits and uniaxial compression strength were calculated. The obtained soil parameters were presented in the form of graphs. According to the results in the reports, it was understood that the groundwater levels changed between 4 and 13 meters deep. According to the unified soil classification system USCS, soils are defined as CH, CL, GC, SC, SM. Soil units are defined in geophysical and geotechnical methods. Bearing capacity is calculated according to Terzaghi bearing capacity in reports. The bearing capacity of the soils was determined to be between 1-1.96 kg/cm2 as a result of the tests and drillings. It was re-analyzed and calculated according to the 2018 Earthquake Regulation. Its compliance with the new earthquake regulation was discussed.
