Abstract (EN)
ABSTRACT Side-weirs, also known as lateral weir, are widely used in irrigation, land drainage, urban sewer systems by flow diversion or intake structures. In the literature, considerable interest and research on the side weirs located on a fixed bed could be come crossed however, the same think can not be said for the movable bed conditions. It is known that the rivers in nature have movable beds. This investigation carried out along the 180° bend rectangular channel for sharp crested side weirs in movable bed and the subcritical flow conditions. As a result of Dimensional Analysis, it is found that the dirnensionless equilibrium scour depth (Hd/p) depends on the dimensionless parameters of velocity Vi/Vkr, depth hi/p, length L/b and bend angle of 8. The dirnensionless equilibrium scour depth (Hd/p) versus Vi /Vtr is experimentally investigated for clear water (0.5
