Abstract (EN)

Hasan İzzettin Dinamo was born on January 1, 1909, in the village of Ahadanda in the Akçaabat district of Trabzon, Turkey. From his early years, he encountered many problems within the country, such as political events and poverty. After his father and brother were martyred in World War I, he was left alone with his mother and sisters. Later, Dinamo started staying at the Darüleytam, an orphanage. Every passing day taught him the realities and hardships of life. After completing his primary education, he graduated from Sivas Teacher Training School at the age of 17. He worked as a teacher for two years in Malatya and Adıyaman. As his salary was not sufficient even for himself, he started doing translations. Due to the poem he wrote titled "Tren" (The Train), İzzettin Dinamo added another challenge to his difficult life. He spent four years in prison for his declaration on workers' rights and the poem "Tren." During his imprisonment, he did not neglect to document the painful days he experienced. Unfortunately, he lost all of his works, except for a few, after his release from prison. After his release from prison, İzzettin Dinamo tried to sustain his life by writing articles and poems in prominent magazines. His knowledge of foreign languages did not prove to be of much help to him. Due to the poems and articles he wrote in these magazines, Dinamo found himself facing various accusations. He received an additional one-year sentence from a military court. After enduring difficult and challenging years, İzzettin Dinamo found himself facing the events of September 6/7. He was held responsible for the incidents that took place in Istanbul and the major explosions that occurred there. Dinamo was hastily taken from his home, and once again, his path led him to prison. He did not neglect to document these challenging times as well. Dinamo, not only faced difficulties in his personal life but also spent a significant portion of his life in prisons and on street VII corners. He was always known for his fighting spirit, steadfastness, and intolerance towards injustice. Dinamo passed away in Istanbul in 1989. İzzettin Dinamo initially started his writing career by being influenced by many poets and writers. Over time, he strengthened his writings and found his unique writing style. However, he experienced a constant fluctuation in his writing style. Dinamo did not stick to a single line and sometimes turned his own life into a novel, while at other times he depicted his years with utmost realism. His works titled "Kutsal Barış" (Sacred Peace) and "Kutsal İsyan" (Sacred Rebellion) are especially regarded as his most important works. When looking at his poems, he has written epic, heroic, and pastoral poems at different times. It is true that İzzettin Dinamo's works were often overshadowed by the events of his time, as well as the prominent literary movements such as the "Beş Hececiler" (Five Syllabists) and "Yedi Meşaleciler" (Seven Torchbearers).
