Abstract (EN)
The 18th century poet and historian Mü'minzâde Ahmed Hasîb wrote Silk al-Le'âl-i Âl-i Osmân, a verse made up of 19,488 couplets. As it stands that is the longest verse chronic written in the Ottoman field. The work includes the events from Osman Gazi to the end of the reign of Mehmed the Conqueror. The era of Mehmed II is the part of Silk al-Le'âl consisting of 11,890 couplets constitutes the text of our thesis. In the examination section, the whole work is taken into consideration. In addition to the political events, this verse chronic introduces the grand viziers, physician heads, scholars, sufis and poets of that era after each sultan. It has a biographical feature as well. In this study, information about Hasîb's life is given, his works are introduced and a detailed analysis of Silk al-Le'âl-i Âl-i Osmân is made. On the other hand, the elements of Turkish-Islamic literature are handled under a separate title.
