Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, the design and application studies of the test set up of trim actuators which are used on aircrafts have been done. There are a DC motor, torque and angle sensors on the test set up. A variable voltage with positive or negative polarity is applied to the DC motor from a 36 V DC voltage source using Pulse-Width-Modulation (PWM) technique. The voltage applied to the DC motor is changed from zero to 36 V, from 36V to -36 V, then from -36 V to zero gradually. The duration of one complete cycle is about 300 sec. In this period, the torque applied to the actuator is changed depending on the applied voltage. The rotation angle of the actuator is measured and recorded following the applied torque. The obtained results are compared with the technical data sheet of the actuator given by the corresponding producer firm. The comparison results are evaluated instantaneously and the final decision is taken by the improved electronic circuit. The test result is displayed by the help of an LCD. In this thesis, the Matlab/Simulink and Proteus programs are used as simulation software.
