Abstract (EN)
In this study the effect of critical dimensions (roof angle, windshield angle, stagnation point and ground clearance) and flow control applications(rear spoiler and vortex generator) on air resistance coefficient and indirectly on fuel consumption were numerically investigated for 1/1 scaled SUV model. For this purpose 22 models were developed and each model were solved for computational domain which is equal in size with a real wind tunnel by using Fluent and CFX code with two-equation RNG k-? turbulence model. Ansys Mesher, Fluent-CFX and CFD Post were used as a grid generator, flow solver and post processor. Numerical results showed that possible fuel consumption was decreased %12.2 and %16.3 according to Fluent and CFX data respectively.
