Abstract (EN)

Air pollution is an urgent global problem with harmful effects on public health and the environment. Traditional methods for air pollution control often involve mechanical and chemical processes, but these have limitations in terms of effectiveness and sustainability. In recent years, there has been increasing interest in investigating biological processes as feasible solutions in air pollution control. This study aims to investigate the role of biological processes in reducing air pollution, examining their mechanisms, effectiveness and potential applications. The research methodology used in this thesis includes a comprehensive review of existing literature, scientific studies and case studies regarding biological processes and air pollution control. Various biological mechanisms, including microbial degradation, phytoremediation, and ecological interactions, are examined in detail. The analysis covers both theoretical frameworks and empirical evidence to evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of biological approaches in different environmental contexts. The findings of this thesis highlight the significant potential of biological processes in controlling air pollution. Microbial degradation shows promise in breaking down pollutants such as hydrocarbons and volatile organic compounds. Phytoremediation, which involves the use of plants to absorb and metabolize pollutants, has proven effective in improving air quality in urban environments. Additionally, restoration of ecosystems and preservation of biodiversity play an important role in improving air quality through natural processes. Going forward, it is crucial to integrate biological processes into mainstream air pollution control strategies. Collaboration between researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders is necessary to facilitate broader application of biological approaches. Further research is needed to explore the optimization of biological processes, including the development of genetically modified organisms and the enhancement of microbial communities for the removal of targeted pollutants. Additionally, public awareness and education initiatives are essential to encourage the adoption of sustainable practices that support biological solutions for air pollution control.
