The environmental factors caused by airport: Ankara Esenboğa Airport sample

The airports, one of the basic elements of the air transportation, are the centers on local, national and regional scales. Also, some polluting effects caused by airports are possible for the environment. Therefore, an environmental management system is to be formed by enterprises by preventing /decreasing the pollution caused by the enterprises.The environmental management system is a comprehensive and long term management system that is designed to prevent the environmental effects of the airports before their existence, or to decrease/eliminate the existed effects.The environmental problems caused by Ankara Esenboğa Airport has been investigated under the titles as the land use relationship, noise pollution relationship, the ecological balance relationship, and water and air pollution relationship. At the end of the evaluations carried out, in order to prevent the harms caused by the airports in Turkey via an effective environmental management system, the studies about decreasing the possible and present effects and preventing from these effects have been appreciated in the scope of this system.In this context, it is thought that the evaluation of the effect occurred upon the environment by the noise has been eased much more by the noise watching and noise measurement values, the noise control works, and the immediate noise measurement in Esenboğa Airport according to the steps of the environmental management system. In the same way it is important that since it will lead to break the ecological balance because of affecting the all livings (Their winces, escapes, and causing the psychological damages), the monitoring and controlling are important.As there is a waste water facility, it is thought that there is an existed management system consciousness. Also variety of the land use makes progress on an advantage basis due to the existence of the Esenboğa Airport (creating employment opportunities causes enlarging the residential areas, and so the various work branches are located around the area). The local people?s support and view in all these studies make contributions to the increase the aviation quality and the appropriation of the field.A comprehensive, long term, and effective environmental management system plan is to be designed as well as the coordinative works of the countries against controlling the environmental pollution. Although it varies from country to country, the environmental management system is necessary.
