Airline outsourcing

Outsourcing has become a popular option for airlines around the world as a way to get back to their core business and cut costs. Businesses need to pay attention to some factors when choosing outsourcing. First of all, it should be determined in which areas outsourcing will be used. Then the right business should be selected where the service will be received. The choice should be made considering its technical capacity, references, cost, reliability and working conditions. Cost-profit calculation of outsourcing should be made, and if a transition to the profit point is achieved, it should be used. In this way, the operational efficiency of enterprises using outsourcing will increase. The aim of this study is to determine the extent to which a number of key resources and functions in a sample of airlines in Turkey are actually outsourced, by a theoretical evaluation based on the transaction cost economy framework, on which criteria the companies to be used as outsource will be selected and by determining the significance of these criteria. To contribute to the selection of the company that the companies will use resources. Only the airline companies in Turkey have been taken into account, and the services provided by the airline companies by outsourcing; ground services, catering services, social responsibility projects, advertisements, cargo facilities and storage, fuel, banking and technical services. The evaluation index system for the selection of the providers of these services has been determined as 4 main criteria and 10 sub-criteria, and the survey application has been made on these 10 criteria. While outsourcing the airlines, the weighting of the criteria of the suppliers according to their importance was analyzed in the survey opinions made with 9 experts. Consistency analysis 4 expert questionnaires below 0.10 could not be included in the study, analyzes were made on 5 expert questionnaires that provided consistency.
