Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of creative drama method on developing greeting, care for environment, sharing-cooperation social skills in Our Village unit of 3rd grade social studies class. This research was designed according to one experimental and two control groups modeling. 19 students who attends the third grade of primary school were assigned to experimental group. First control group was consisted of 17 and second control group was consisted of 15 students. Creative drama activities were used to develop social skills of students as a treatment for the experimental group. The treatment consisted of 16 hours, 40 minutes sessions that equal a class hour in school that 4 hours in a week. First control group was treated traditional teaching method by investigator. Second control group had been taught by classroom teacher as the way he/she does traditionally. Social Skills Observation Form (SSOF) developed by the researcher, was used to measure variables of the study. Data were processed by using covariance analysis. Findings indicated that creative drama method has significant effect on sharing-cooperation and greeting but not significant effect on care for environment social skill.Key Words : Drama, Drama in Education, Creative Drama, Teaching Methods, Social Skills, Social Skills Training, Social Skills Instruction.
