Evaluation of clinical leadership perceptions of physicians and nurses: The case of Adana

The research was conducted in descriptive type to determine the clinical leadership perceptions of physicians and nurses. The sample of the study consisted of 28 physicians and 253 nurses working in Adana City Training and Research Hospital. In the study, data were collected with a questionnaire and Clinical Leadership Scale. Research data were evaluated with internal reliability coefficient Croncbach's Alpha analysis, descriptive statistics, independent groups t test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Linear Regression analysis. In the study, the level of significance was taken as p<0.05. In the study, 75.54% of the participants were women, 56.5% were married, 81.4% had a bachelor's degree, 53% were between the ages of 26-35, 98.6% were nurses, and 11.6% It was determined that ten of them had training on clinical leadership. The total score of the participants on the Clinical Leadership scale was determined as 2.60±0.30. It was determined that there was a significant difference (p<0.05) between age, marital status, length of time working in the institution, length of time working in the profession and perceptions of clinical leadership. As a result, it was determined that physicians and nurses perceived themselves as clinical leaders, and age, working time in the institution, working time in the profession, and receiving training on clinical leadership affected the perception of clinical leadership.
