Abstract (EN)
While nurses are performing their duties, it is crucial to have good working conditions for the safety of patients. Working conditions grounded physical, mental, and social pressures on nurses, as well as the lack of safety of care and treatments that require high attention, energy and dedication from nurses put public health into danger. It may decrease the quality of healthcare services and may become a serious vital and social problem. Even it seems that nurses? working conditions effects only nurses negatively; indeed, it affects the whole society.In our study, a questionnaire regarding nurses was applied. The samples of our study are head nurses, assistant head nurses, charge nurses, nurses, and nurses in specific branches who work in two public hospitals operate in the Bakırköy district in the city of Istanbul. The survey to determine the working conditions of nurses working in hospitals, is composed of 35 questions, 9 of which on demography and 26 of which on working conditions. Following ethics committee approval and authorization, questionnaire was distributed to 200 nurses who want to participate in the study and fully completed forms gathered from 190 of them were evaluated considering percentage distributions via software. The field survey was conducted on service nurses from Bakırköy Mental Health and Nervous Diseases Education and Research Hospital with 85.5% participation and from Dr Sadi Konuk Education and Research Hospital participated with 86.2% participation.Keywords: Nurses?
