Abstract (EN)

The research was conducted cross-sectionally and methodologically to determine the compliance of nurses with isolation measures. The research was carried out by T.R. in Istanbul. It was held at Sultanbeyli State Hospital between January 2023 and June 2023. The population of the study consisted of 400 nurses working in the hospital, and the sample consisted of 293 nurses who met the criteria and agreed to participate in the study. In order to conduct the research, ethics committee, institutional permission, scale use permission and verbal consent from the nurses were obtained. To be used in the research, the "Demographic Data Form" prepared by the researcher in line with the literature information and the "Isolation Precautions Compliance Scale (IPCS)" developed by Tayran and Ulupınar in 2011 were used. The data obtained from the research were evaluated using appropriate statistical methods in the SPSS Windows 18.0 package program. The average age of the nurses participating in the study was 27.73±4.96, 72.4% were female, 58.4% were single, 91.5% had a bachelor's degree, 33.8% worked in the emergency department, total It was determined that the average working time was 5.90±5.09 years and the total working time in the institution was 4.55±3.51 years. The average ISS total score of the nurses participating in the study was determined as 77.13±8.29 out of 90 points. There was no significant difference between the total scores received by the nurses from the IPCS total score and its sub-dimensions and their age, marital status, working position, total working time, total working time in the institution and the unit they worked in (p>0.05). It was determined that there was a significant difference between the IPCS Employee and Patient Safety sub-dimension based on gender and the IPCS Environmental Control sub-dimension according to education level (p<0.05). In conclusion; It was found that nurses' compliance with isolation measures was at a good level. When other studies in the literature are examined, it is seen that the result of our study is above the average. It is recommended to ensure continuity of in-service training of nurses in line with institutional and environmental factors, to plan training and activities that will raise awareness about employee and patient safety, and to plan and implement research in different provinces and larger hospitals as research with a high level of evidence.
