Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study was determined as examining the relationship between nurses' knowledge levels regarding the prevention of urinary catheter–associated infections and their attitudes toward evidence-based nursing practices. The research was conducted with a total of 250 nurses working at Yozgat Bozok Research and Training Hospital and Yozgat City Hospital. Without employing a sampling method, all nurses who agreed to participate were included in the study. As data collection tools, a personal information form, the Catheter-Associated Urinary Tract Infection Prevention Measures Scale, and the Evidence Based Nursing Attitude Scale (EBNAS) were used. The findings of the study revealed that variables such as family type, chronic disease status, and working status did not have a significant effect on catheter infection control levels. However, it was determined that nurses who participated in nursing-related meetings had higher mean scores in the ―feelings‖ and ―intention to practice‖ subdimensions of the EBNAS. Additionally, demographic factors were found to have varying effects on attitudes toward evidence based nursing, and it was observed that as professional experience increased, nurses' attitudes and levels of infection control measures also increased. Overall, it was determined that there was no significant relationship between the levels of catheter-associated infection prevention measures and attitudes toward evidence-based nursing (p < 0.05). 2025, xi + 64 Pages Keywords: Urinary catheter, Infection, Evidence-based nursing
