Walk-in sculptures generated by the interactionof sculpture and architecture

Sculpture and architecture are two disciplines which have got into interaction with one another in the historical process. This interaction, especially after 1960, gave birth to walk-in sculptures and converted the art of sculpture which was used in the decoration of the architectural structures during the early modern period thanks to approaches such as the constructivism and the Bauhaus that emerged after the modernism, as well as the use of industrial materials. In the first chapter of this thesis, we mentioned constructivism and the Bauhaus which linked the art of sculpture to the architectural structures. In the second chapter, we analyzed the walk-in sculptures which have similarities with the architecture. In the third chapter, to be able to understand the interdisciplinary interaction, we analyzed the similarities between sculpture and architecture via sculptural approaches in the works of the architects of the 20th and 21st century.
