Abstract (EN)

In this study, 3D printers which are used for engineering, medical and commercial purposes, popular in recent years and CNC router are going to be designed on a single chassis for having more efficient production platform. Basically 3D printer and CNC Router are controlled with Computer Numerical Control (CNC) and need similar hardware which are designed in cartesian coordinates. Also 3D manufacturing and machining are put together. Therefore, the two systems save costs and manufacturing area when are designed on a single chassis. The machine construction whose preliminary design was made on SolidWorks and the reliability of the machine elements to be used were examined in accordance with the principles and analysis is performed on the Ansys Workbench modüle which is the finite elements software. As a result of the analysis, necessary improvements were made on the model to obtain the final design, the chassis is designed with a dimension of 1500x900mm with T-slot aluminium profiles. The effective machining area dimension is 1100x700x175mm in xyz coordinates. Depending on the machining principles and desired axis speeds, calculations of ballscrews, stepper motors and linear guideways were made. Basically, the system was planned to make using Arduino Mega 2560 development card and Ramps 1.4 3-dimensional printer card, but the Mach3 interface card is used for CNC Router operations, because the interface software can not generate all the required G-Codes.
