Abstract (EN)
Today, social enterprises are recognized as the most influential organizations in the delivery of social change. The hybrid features of social enterprises have a great influence on this success. Combining different institutional logics and possessing dual mission impulse social enterprises to make more careful decisions. While ensuring their sustainability, balancing social and economic missions is one of the biggest challenges facing social enterprises. Although social enterprises strive for growth to increase their social impact, sustaining growth often causes mission drift and the sacrifice of social goals. This also results in social enterprises moving away from their institutional identity. In this study, the hybrid characteristics of social enterprises were examined. A comprehensive literature review was conducted to learn whether a problem arising from both commercial and social benefit creation logic as hybrid organizations and, if so, under what circumstances can arise and how this problem was overcome by management. It contributes to the existing literature in social entrepreneurship by analyzing obtained data through comparison and discussion with data collected from a social enterprise in Turkey. When the data was examined, several key factors such as hybrid business models, organizational management, social ecosystems, financial and human resources, which are important in ensuring the balance between social enterprises' missions and management of rival logics, were identified.
