Abstract (EN)

In this study, synthesis and characterization of novel MOF (Metal Organic Framework) structured and/or polymeric coordination compounds incorporating vanadium and 4,4'-bipyridine and/or naphthalene-2,6-disulfonate ligands has been aimed. Hydro/solvo-thermal, reflux and microwave synthesis methods were used as synthesis techniques. Determination of physical properties of compounds, FTIR spectroscopy, elemental (CHNS), thermogravimetric and single crystal structure analysis were used as characterization techniques. Eventually, neither vanadium-containing MOF nor polymeric coordination compound could be synthesized in this study. However, the proton transfer salt, 4,4'-bipyridinium naphthalene-2,6-disulfonate dihydrate compound was synthesized and fully characterized first time. This compound could be synthesized by three different synthesis methods, but the yield in all of these methods is very low. Also interestingly, the 4,4'-bipyridinium naphthalene-2,6-disulfonate dihydrate compound can not be synthesized under conditions in which vanadium compounds are absent.
