Abstract (EN)

In this study, the synthesizing of new porous metal-organic framework compounds wasaimed by interacting cadmium with multi-dentate and rigid 2,4,6-tri(2-pyridyl)-striazinestructured ligand. However, 2,4,6-tri(2-pyridyl)-s-triazine ligand wasdecomposed to 2-pikolinic acid (pyridine-2-carboxylic acid) in solvothermal reaction. As a result of this existing circumstances, 2-pikolinic acid ligand interacted withcadmium to form novel 1-D polymeric metal-organic framework compound[Cd(C5H4N(COO))2].The compound was fully characterized by determining physical properties and infraredspectroscopy (FTIR), elemantal analysis (CHNS analysis), thermogravimetric analysis(TGA) and single crystal structure analysis.Hydrothermal and solvothermal synthetic methods were extensively used during thiswork. It can be said that there is partially success because of the decomposition of 2,4,6-tri(2-pyridyl)-s-triazine ligand in solvothermal synthesis method, however, there is nosuccess in reflux and hydrothermal synthesis methods.Key words: Cadmium compound, Coordination Complex, Solvothermal Synthesis,Hydrothermal Synthesis, 2-pikolinic acid, 2- pyridine carboxylic acid, pyridine-2-carboxylic acid, Metal Organic Framework compounds
