Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this research to investigate the effect of story map method on the levels of Listening and Reading Comprehension and their attitudes towards reading of 1st grade students in Terms of Various Variables. The research was conducted with 69 students in the first grade of Erdemir Primary School in Kdz. Eregli district of Zonguldak. One of the quantitative research methods "Semi-Experimental Design", was used in the research. While collecting the quantitative data of the study, pre-test and post-test control group design was preferred. In the process of data collection, at the beginning and at the end of the application, the experimental and control groups received Attitudes Towards Reading Scale With Garfield Images for between 1-6 grades, pre-test and post-test were applied. By asking the story map questions before listening and reading comprehension questions to the experimental group's students effects of story map on studensts' listening and reading comprehension was investigated. In the control group, the course was completed with standard learning and application process was completed. Listening and reading comprehension texts consist of 26 narrative texts in the first grade Turkish Course book. SPSS 20.0 statistical package program was used to evaluate the data obtained from the Listening and Reading Comprehension Achievement Test "and" Attitudes Towards Reading Scale With Garfield Images for between 1-6 grades which were applied after the experimental procedure. At the end of the study, it was concluded that the experimental group where story mapping application was made before listening and reading comprehension questions was more successful in understanding than the control group. When the effects of the story map on the attitude towards listening and reading comprehension were examined, it was found that there was a positive development in listening and reading comprehension in the experimental group.
