Abstract (EN)

Stratigraphic units of Hacıbekir Group dated as Early Miocene, start with Tasbası formation comprised of alluvial fan deposits. It overlies pre-Neogene rock units with angular unconformity. Formation is cut and covered by calc-alkaline Akdag volcanics consisting of acidic lavas and homogeneous tuffs. Kızılbük formation which represented lacustrine deposits, overlies alluvial fan deposits with lateral and vertical transition. Köpenez tuff occurs in Kızılbük lacustrine formation. It consist of rhyolitic ignimbrit and ash-fall tuff levels. Stratigraphic units of Emet Group, unconformably located on Hacıbekir Group units. This shows that two different stratigraphic settings at Dereköy and Hisarcık fields. At nearby Hisarcık, lacustrine Hisarcık formation overlies alluvial Kızılyar formation with transition. Hisarcık formation consists three member from the bottom to the top; Doganlar member which occur as transition zone, gdeköy member including borate-bearing deposits, and Espey member consisting of dominantly limestone rocks. Fluvial Ören formation occurs instead of Kızılyar formation at nearby Dereköy as a counterpart. Borate-bearing lacustrine deposits of gdeköy member which grades into the alluvial madstones at upper levels, conformably overlies Ören formation. Dereköy volcanic which is charachterised by trachy-andesitic alkaline type cut and covers İgdeköy member. This study is first, which described Ören formation. Tectonic activity is highly in study area which represented dominantly NNW-SSE trending normal faults. The study area is considerable about geothermal activities which started in Early Middle Miocene and continued up to the present. Keywords: Early-Middle Miocene sedimentation, Emet borate basin, Miocene volcanism.
