Abstract (EN)
"CE" marking signifies the conformity of the products to the relevant European Union regulations. If a product falls in the scope of "CE" marking system, it can't be placed on the Union market without bearing the "CE" marking. That's why the "CE" marking is compulsory. The rules to be abide by are made uniform through Union-wide harmonization. The products are subject to same rules throughout all the member state which enables the free movement of goods. Turkey was integrated to the "CE" marking system via Decision no: 1/95 in 1995. Ever since, same rules regarding the "CE" marking apply to Turkey. Determining the legal status of the "CE" marking is significant which is being used under lots of product types. Because, misevaluation of the legal status of the "CE" marking may lead to apply the wrong provisions and consequently to achieve wrong outcomes.
