Abstract (EN)

This thesis examines the understanding of God of Ibn Sina, one of the most important names in Islamic philosophy, especially in the context of the attribute of 'will'. Ibn Sina's understanding of God, shaped within the framework of the theory of emanation, argues that God's relationship with the universe occurs within a system based on necessity, reason and wisdom. This approach contrasts with the view in the classical theological tradition that God has absolute will and power, and has led to serious debate. In this study, how Ibn Sina founded God's of will, the relationship of this understanding with the theory of emanation, and the criticisms and defenses of Islamic thinkers such as Ghazali and Ibn Rushd on this subject are discussed in detail. The consistency of the system was evaluated, especially through basic concepts such as the distinction between existence and essence, and the distinction between necessary and possible existence. The original aspect of the thesis is that it does not only focus on a theoretical analysis but also evaluates the ontological, epistemological and theological dimensions of the debates surrounding the attribute of will. Thus, the interaction between both philosophical and theological traditions was examined. This study aims to understand Ibn Sina's understanding of will more closely and to make a systematic contribution to the literature of Islamic philosophy.
