Ibnu'l-Enbârî and his work titeled el-Müzekker ve'l-Müennes

In our study, the life of Abu Bakr Muhammad b. al-Qāsim Ibn al-Anbārī (328/940), one of the great representatives of the Kufa linguistic school, who lived in Baghdāt during the Abbāsid State in the 3rd and IVth centuries, and his grammatical work al-Muzakker wa'l-Muennes are discussed. While giving general information about the author and his work, brief information about the subjects he dealt with is also given. Our study consists of an introduction, two chapters and a conclusion. In the introduction, information about the political, social, scientific and cultural situation of the period in which Ibn al-Anbārī lived is discussed. At the same time, in the introduction, information about makker and mu'min in the Arabic language was given and the names of the most important authors of the most important works written until today were mentioned. In the first part of the thesis, Ibn al-Anbārī's life, his scholarly direction, his personal characteristics, his works and the studies on him are discussed. In the second chapter, Ibn al-Anbārī's al-Muzakker wa'l-Muennes is introduced in outline. In this context, the general characteristics of al-Muzakker wa'l-Mu'annes, the purpose of its writing, its importance, its method, its sources, its istishhad, its idioms, its definitions, its ta'lil, its comparison with other works written in this field, and the subjects discussed in the work are briefly mentioned. In the conclusion, the data obtained in this study are outlined. According to this, Ibn al-Anbārī, in his work, referred to the opinions of the linguistic scholars belonging to the Basra School, the Kūfah School and other linguistic scholars, and he used shawāhīd such as verse, qiraāt, hadith and poetry.
