Abstract (EN)
In this study, the thermal performance of evacuated tube solar collector (ETSC) with an inner tube was investigated. For this purpose, a compound parabolic solar collector with tubular absorber has been designed and manufactured. In order to observe system performance, experiments were carried out in different outdoor conditions. During the experiments, the ambient temperature, the outer glass temperature, the inner tube surface temperature, solar radiation and amount of steam generation were measured. The thermal efficiency of the system was determined by using the steam obtained from the system. A mathematical model for one-dimensional steady state, where the energy balance was established by using heat transfer relations, was transferred to the computer via the EES software. Numerical and experimental results are compared and so heat loss was calculated. After that, the thermal performance of the system was determined at different irradiation rates and flow temperatures by using the software.
