Abstract (EN)

Producing energy in sustainable and efficient ways is an important issue considering rapidly growing earth population and higher demands. In today's developing technology, solar energy production is a substantial solution. Sun tracker systems following the sun rays from sunrise to sunset and combined with closed-loop control technics and improved storage methods proved to be very efficient compared to stationary solar systems. In this study, research and development has been done in order to increase the efficiency of solar tracking systems. The optimum angle and orientation to the weather conditions are important to obtain maximum efficiency from the sun rays. In order to be used in control techniques that will provide this orientation, the radiation values have been recorded by taking the prefabricated reference at Izmir Dokuz Eylul University Tinaztepe Campus for one year and new mathematical models have been developed considering these values. In line with the results obtained, at the same time, designs suitable for urban planning were created. System designs have been proposed to solve the problem of energy production in settlements in accordance with the foreseen modular city designs. And the system behavior can be insufficient so monitoring the system response to drive the system through desired response is necessary so controllers were designed to provide better system dynamics.
