Abstract (EN)
A generalized second grade non-Newtonian fluid model is considered. The model is a combinationof power-law and second grade fluids in which the fluid may exhibit normal stresses, shear thinningor shear thickening behaviors. The equations of motion are derived for two dimensionalincompressible flows. The boundary layer equations are derived from the equations. Using a specialtype of scaling transformation, the boundary layer equations are transformed to ordinary differentialequations for the stretching sheet problem. The ordinary differential equations are numericallyintegrated. Shear thickening and shear thinning cases are separately contrasted with the usualsecond grade fluid solutions. Keywords: Generalized Second Grade Fluid, Boundary Layers, Stretching Sheet, SimilarityTransformation
