Abstract (EN)

As it is known, climate change is a situation that has the potential to change the natural balances. This situation causes extreme temperatures both in the world and in Turkey and this situation causes excessive evaporation in water resources. With climate change, especially the electricity generation produced in hydroelectric power plants is adversely affected by this situation. In this study, the electricity production values of Atatürk Dam in the Middle Euphrates Basin, one of the most important basins of Turkey, and the water data taken from the dam lake for electricity generation, the annual averages, temperature, precipitation, evaporation data of some stations in the Euphrates Basin, were analyzed. A trend analysis was performed and a significant trend presence was sought. While performing the statistical study, non-parametric methods were used. In this study, the data received by DSI were processed. In order to obtain the most accurate results while performing the trend analysis, the non-parametric Mann-Kendall test and the Sen Curve test, which are frequently preferred in such studies, were used. Atatürk Dam data in the Middle Euphrates Basin were discussed and evaluated for electrical energy production evaluations, and various suggestions were presented in the conclusion part of the study in the light of the results obtained with these evaluations.
