Abstract (EN)

Isothiocyanates have been used as synthetic intermediates to prepare biologically activeheterocyclic compounds. It is possible to obtain the heterocycles such as thiazoles, thiazolinesand thiazolidines containing N-C-S bonds by this reagent. These sulfur heterocycles exhibitvarious biological and physicological activities such as pesticidal, nematocidal, herbicidal, bactericidal and anti-cancer.On the other hand, pyrazoline-5-one derivatives are an important class of heterocycliccompounds with wide scientific and technical application as materials in catalysis andpotential antitumor medications. This study planned to synthesize new heterocycles having possible biological activities. In thefirst step, 2-iminothiazolidinones and phenyl- and methylsubstituted pyrazoline-5-ones havingactive methylene group as the starting materials were prepared. These compounds werereacted with phenyl isothiocyanate in basic medium then were obtained their ring closurereactions by chloroacetyl chloride and phenacyl bromide. In the second step, methyl phenylsubstituted bicyclic acid and anhydride compounds were obtained by Friedel-Crafts reaction. In the last step, structure determinations of all new compounds were identificated by IR,proton NMR spectroscopic data and analytical data.Key Words: Phenyl isothiocyanate, 2-iminothiazolidinone compounds, pyrazoline-5-onederivatives , Friedel-Crafts reactions, biological activity.
