Religious education of the child in the early childhood and the effect of family on religious education (Diyarbakır case)

The main aim of this study was to determine the attitudes and opinions of parents about the influence of parents while giving religious education to children in the early childhood. Based on the analysis obtained from the survey technique applied to parents. The responsibility and duties of the parents in the process of giving religious education to the child were examined. The main problem of the research is to reveal whether the parents' religious knowledge and education contribute to the religious education they give to their children in the early childhood. The universe of the study consists of families in Diyarbakir. The sample of our study consisted of the four districts of Diyarbakır, Kayapınar, Sur, Yenişehir, Bağlar and parents who had children who resided in Bismil due to their population density. The pilot of the scale was used in the research. Validity, reliability and factor analyzes were performed. As a result of the pre-treatment, the necessary pre-arrangements were made and the measurement instrument consisting of four dimensions was finalized. The necessary permissions to collect the survey data were taken from the governorship and the sample was applied to 500 people in Diyarbakır. In the analysis of the data, the scores of the responses of the parents about the proficiency levels of the religious education were calculated. The research revealed the importance of the first childhood religious education. In this respect, parents should develop their existing knowledge of child development and education, and should be aware of the child's religious and moral development. Parents should be aware of the religious understanding of the first childhood child, and the child should be aware of what kind of behavior will arise at this age. It has been concluded that the fact that parents have a healthy religious education contributed to the formation of a healthy religious education infrastructure in the child.
