Abstract (EN)

The objective of this study is to search the effects of educational game based learning of the students in the 1st grade primary school mathematics classes. The study is organized with the participation of Büyük Çiğli Primary School?s first grade students in Çiğli, county of Izmir.This is an experimental study of pretest-posttest experimental pattern with control group. 46 students are the samples of the research. 23 students are experimental group and 23 students are control group. During the research the play-based learning method was applied to the experimental group while the traditioanal teaching method was applied to the control group. Data gained from the pretest-posttest achievement tests.The results of the research can be summarised as follows: There is a meaningful difference between the experimental and control groups. The experimental group achievement level increases relative to the control group.Key Words: Educational game based learning, Operational skills, Achievement.
