Abstract (EN)

In this study, the effect of using educational computer games on primaryschool 2nd grade students? mathematics lessons to their academic successesand retention has been researched. Therefore, the selected games have beenprovided to be used by experiment group students. The games named TuxMath Scrabble and Treasure Hunt Math have been mainly used in this study.The working group includes fourtyseven students at 2nd grade from?Adana Özel Gündo du Schools?. Twentytwo students selected randomly havebeen in the experimental group, and twentyfive students selected randomlyhave been in the control group. The examples with the traditional method(paper and pencil based) have been applied to the control group, and thecomputer aided math games have been applied to the experimental group.At the end of this study, a meaningful difference could not be foundbetween control and experimental group in terms of academical success andretention.Key Words: Computer Assisted Education, Educational ComputerGames.
