The results have been showed in the tables. As a result, it was observed that the acquisition of the 4th and 5th year social studies course is compatible with the acquisition of sub-disciplines. There is no significant difference between the opinions of the elementary school teachers about the compatibility of the acquisitions of the 4th and 5th year social studies courses with the sub-disciplines in terms of gender, the institutions, the classes they are teaching and the period of their working years. However, there is an significant difference between the opinions of the 5th year entrepreneurship sub-discipline and the acquisition of social studies courses in terms of their in-service periods. Besides, it was observed that the elementary school teachers are not familier with the concept of sub-discipline and the information given in the school- teacher handbooks about the sub-disciplines is not adequate, so the teachers are trying to figure out the relationship between the acquisition of the social studies courses and sub-disciplines during the classes and as a result of this, the teachers are facing difficulties in teaching the terminologies of the sub-disciplines, especially while teaching the abstract concepts.Key words are: Sub-discipline, acquisition, social studies.
