The measurement and evaluation analyisis according to teacher views regarding geography units in social sciences course books written in 1998 and 2005 education programs for years 4 and 5 of primary education

In this thesis, measurement and evaluation analysis according to teacher viewsregarding Geography units in Social Sciences course books written in 1998 and 2005education programs for years 4 and 5 of primary education, will be provided.Arithmetical means and standard deviations of points obtained as results of teacherviews on each item have been calculated. Teacher views have been tested by using the t-test.One-way variant analysis (anova) have been deployed in identifying differences betweenmeans of groups of more than two. Sheffe technique has been used in finding as to whichgroups had caused differences in cases where P values were meaningful. Minimum margin oferror was 0.05 in the research.Measurement and evaluation requirements of Geography units of fourteen SocialSciences course books prepared according to 1998 education programs and 6 books from2005 education program have been analysed in four main sections in the research. Firstsection includes information on the research method, time and sampling, data sources andcollection and analysis of the data and other research regarding the study have beenmentioned. In the second section, evaluation studies of the Social Sciences course books ofyears 4 and 5 have been analysed and problems regarding measurement and evaluationfindings of Geography units in these books have been identified. Section three analyses thesufficiencies of measurement and evaluation studies regarding Geography units in SocialSciences books with respect to teacher views. Section four of the research, finding have beenlisted and suggestions have been made accordingly.Survey forms used in the study are formed by all state and private schools located inthe Central district of the city of Canakkale. Sampling has been consisted of 30 primaryschools, 18 of which were state schools located in the city of Canakkale, 9 of which werevillage schools affiliated with the Central district and 3 of which were private schools.Surveys have been directed to 97 school teachers in total 51 of whom were lecturing year 4students and 46 of whom were lecturing year 5 students for Social Sciences course in year 4and 5.
