Getting students ideas about learning activities applied according to the multiple intelligence fields in fifth class computer lesson in primary school

ABSTRACTGETTİNG STUDENTS İDEAS ABOUT LEARNİNG ACTİVİTİES APPLİEDACCORDİNG TO THE MULTİPLE İNTELLİGENCE FİELDS İN FİFTH CLASSCOMPUTER LESSON İN PRİMARY SCHOOLEsra EKE DEMİRCİAnadolu University,Institute of Educational ScienceDepartment of Computer and Educational TechnologiesAdvisor : Prof.Dr. Ferhan ODABAŞIİn this research, what kinds of ideas students have about the activities includingmultiple intelligence fields in computer lessons are examined.The research was applied to the fifth class students of Sami Sipahi Primary School in2004-2005 Education Term. Two different valid scales are used to get knowledge aboutstudents intelligence fields. When the datas got from the scales are examined, it is seen thatpoints students get from each intelligence field and answers students give to the questions aredifferent. This situation caused different orders in the level of improvement of intelligencefields of students. Because of that by appling different activities for each intelligence field toteach keyboard keys, students ideas are got by reflection method.İt is seen that activities for each intelligence field about the keyboard keys subject canbe arranged and participation of students can be achieved. When looked at the students ideasabout the comprehension of the lesson, it is seen that in general passitive answers are given. Itis seen that students who have negative answers have difficulty as the activity is not surtablefor their learning model.When it is looked at the reasons of comprehension of students, it can be said thatstudents gave passitive answers as the activities were surtable for their learning models and asthe results of the activities, students can get the ability of discovering of their differentlearning models. When a subject is taught, if different intelligent fields activities are used, byusing different learning models, the participation of more students can be got.As it is reached the reality that students learn by different ways as the results ofdifferent activities of computer lesson should consist of those differences. Because of that itcan be said that in computer lesson which is an applied lesson, one kind of evalution is wrong.By considering students ideas and their studies in class it can be said that using more flexibleevalution teachniques are suitable.It is cansidered that success rate of students in applications and datas got fromcomments about the compter lessons present new approçehes about how the education shouldbe in computer lessons.As the datas got from the results of research, the duty of teacher is to improveactivities for each intelligent field considering ağabeylities and interests of students.
