The evaluation of 6th grade?s geography topic in the respects of the programme?s (2005 programme) element according to the teachers? views in primary schools.

The aim of this research is to evaluate 6th grade social courses geography topics, which were firstly used in 2006-2007 and which are applied in the whole country, according to the teachers? views.The environment of the research is composed of primary schools in Çanakkale. The survey model is used in this research. The questionnaires were and applied to the teachers, in this concept. It is attempted to attain all the teachers of social courses in Çanakkale. However, it wasn?t possible and the research was completed with 90 teachers. The questionnaire was applied in the 2nd term of 2006-2007 education year.The views of teachers were asked about the aim objectives, the content, the process of learning-teaching, the process of assessment and evaluating and the process of developing programme of the new programme; the result were analyzed via SPSS 16.0 package. t-test and variant analysis (ANOVA) were taken into consideration to comprehend whether there is any difference between the teachers? views. ?Turkey HDS test? was utilized to find out the definite differences among which groups in the views of teachers.It is comprehended that the teachers of social courses are ?mostly agreed? to the views related to the aims objectives, the process of assessment evaluation and developing programme of geography topics of social courses of 6th grade. It is also comprehended that the teachers were ?nearly agreed? to the views related to the content of the programme and the process of learning-teaching.Teachers? views related to the aims objectives and the process of the developing programme differ according to their working places. While the teachers? views related to the content differ according to sex and gender, there is no difference among their views related to the process of learning-teaching and assessment evaluation.According to the data obtained from the result of analysis, it would be beneficial to review some aims objectives and the content related to this, descending the number of the activities or ascending the hours of social courses, to reform the technological aids of the schools, to use the alternative techniques of assessment evaluation and to represent the samples of different activities to the teachers.
