The relationship between the ability of using the adjectives and success at the school of 8th class students of primary school

Prof. Dr. Musa Ç FÇThis work mainly aims to determine the relation between the usage of adjectivesand school success in 2003/2004 Term at 8.th classes of Uşak?s central primary school.In the work, Uşak?s central primary schools divided in to three groups asadvanced grade, medium grade and low grade according to their success at HighSchools Registration and Evaluation Exam. Amongst these schools, two schools havebeen chosen by random method in order to represent every group 40 students from eachschool and totally 240 students have attended as test subject.We have had these students write memoir writing, free writing and article oftravel and also test questions about adjectives have been answered by these students.The number of adjectives at student?s works have been determined. The relationbetween the total number of adjectives, the right answer of students at tests and theirsuccesses at article has been researched student?s total number of adjectives at freewriting, memoir writing, article of travel and writing skills determined.The relations amongst the number of adjectives at written skills and thesuccesses of courses like Turkish, Science and Maths, English, Social have beenstudied.Compared with memoir writing and free writing, is seen that article of travelshas more adjective usage.It?s also determined that there is a meaningful relation between the schools HighSchool?s Registration and Evaluation Exam success and total adjective usage.As the result of research, a meaningful relation amonst the usage of adjectivewith the courses; Tukish, Science and Maths, English and Social has been determined.KEY WORDS: Adjective, Written Skills, Academic Success, TurkishEducaion.
