The evaluation of the degree of affect of the Turkish pop music on primary the eight class students

Turkish pop music, the outcome of popular culture, has become popular in the second half of the 20th century in our country and it has become one of the most important music genres of the 21th century. This music which gives a direction especially to the students of primary schools is thought to take place necessarily in basic music education.The aim of this study is to determine the level of effects of Turkish pop music on 8th class students and to provide a different perspective to today?s Turkish pop music according to the views of students.The universe of this study is schools in the city centre and the district of Malatya. The sample, the schools in five cities centre and the districts are have been determined by random sampling method. İn this study, the poll technique has been applied. The poll has 28 questions. The poll has been answered by 1029 students in total. Of all the poll, 1008 have been evaluated while 21 of them haven?t been taken into consideration as the experimentals have given the same answers haven?t been evaluated. The datas obtained have been transfered to the computer with via SPSS 13.0 software and necessary data analyses have been made. After data analyses the results have been transfered into the charts and according to these charts advices have been made by commenting charts.In the information part of this thesis, the definitions of pop music and popular culture, genres of pop music, the history of Turkish pop music have been mentioned. This part has been constituted with the help of books, articles, thesises, Internet and foreign sources.At the and of the study, it has been determined that 8th class students of primary schools have been considerably effected by the Turkish pop music. With the help of students? ideas, it has been tried to provide solutions to the problems in Turkish pop music.
